Over the years there have been many myths about food and the different effects they have on the body. Some believe that bananas increase your vision. Some believe that eggs are bad for your heart, but that has been proven to be ah false statement.
Eggs while having cholesterol, the fatty acid that can clog your arteries, is not bad for you in small amounts. Most food myths only relate to reality when you consider over eating. As long as you don’t over eat and watch your diet directly these problems want occur. Some say that high-fructose corn syrup is worse then sugar, this is also a myth.
High-fructose corn syrup is almost identical to sugar, it was made to mimic sucrose. A lack of information can easily create a myth amongst the masses especially if it sounds feasible. Most people believe that the Dr Atkins diet will help them to lose weight. They think that Carbohydrates make you gain huge amounts of weight.
Actual that’s not true what makes you gain weight is ah increased amount of calories. Calories are the culprit when it comes to weight gain and some foods are heavier then others. Some foods carry ah large amount of calories even tho they are very tiny.
Processed food has ah very large calorie count. Raw food is said to have enzymes that are essential for digestion. This is also a myth because those enzymes only work for the plant they have no effect on our bodies. We tend to create these myths to sell of justify our eating habits, but when it’s all said an done proper research is the best way to go.
